Freehand Glowsticking

Freehand is the subcategory of the art of glowsticking that involves performing various techniques such as tracing the body with the glowsticks, juggling the sticks, and even foot moves such as kicks and foot stalls, all done in a dancing manner.
As time has passed, the new glowstickers of today have created a multitude of moves that the originators of glowsticking thought was once impossible. The complexity of these moves often leaves viewers speechless and mind boggled. The speed and technicality of the dedicated freehanders of today is much greater than anyone could have predicted.
Many often feel, however, that freehanding is not as appreciated as much as it once was when glowsticking first became popular in the 1990s. Since the internet boom, glowstringing, the other sub category of glowsticking, has become the stronger side of the art with a much larger member base. Glowstringing is much easier to make look "flashy" in the eyes of non-glowstickers, which even beginners can achieve within a weeks practice. This often leads to people overlooking the beauty and depth of freehand and pushes them to glowstring instead. Most dedicated glowstickers, however, hope that one day the balance of glowstringers and freehanders will be equal.
